(March 6, 2019) The Bahamas Marine Export Assoc. was instrumental in completing a Fishery Improvement Plan (FIP) for the Bahamian lobster fishery. As a result, The Bahamas lobster fishery is now fully certified by the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) as a sustainable fishery for Caribbean Spiny Lobsters (Panulirus argus). Tropic Seafood, has gone a step further to receive a separate MSC Certification number for Chain of Custody for the Tropic Seafood facility.
A sustainable fishery is important to make sure that spiny lobsters are available for future generations.
