(February 15, 2019) Tropic Seafood Ltd. is currently working with the Bahamian Department of Marine Resources and the Bahamian Government to undertake a population survey for a new species of crab that could possibly be the start of a new fishery in The Bahamas:
the Golden Crab (Chaceon fenneri).
Known for its particular golden color, this crab typically weighs two to three pounds.
The meat has a delicate texture and a slightly sweet flavor. Golden Crabs are a delicacy eaten by people around the world.
Our Live Golden crabs will be on display at the Seafood Expo North America, Booth #1721 (March 17-19, 2019), along with live Olive Flounder, Caribbean Spiny lobster and Giant Marine Isopods.
